ABOUT US
Welcome to my website. Since we all like to put a face with a person, read on to find out more about me!
A native of Germany, my profession for many years was as a translator
for a number of international companies. My profession translating
German, French and English included many great experiences and the
opportunity to live in some exciting places that included London, France
and later on, the Caribbean and Bermuda. It was there in 1995, that I
met my husband of today. Moving to his Vermont home in the mountains, we
shared our love of outdoor sports that included not only skiing, biking
and running but my favorite of all, riding horses. That is, until last
year. While traveling and thinking of living in a climate for our golf
and riding, we discovered Southern Pines, NC. For me, the attractive
equestrian community offering its 4,000 acres of nature reserve and for
my avid golfer husband, the unbelievable number of area golf courses
sold us immediately. We happily relocated and even my horse who moved
with us, seems to like her new home as much as we do!
I made my NC real estate license as a Broker last year (hurrah!) and am now also enjoying my work as a real estate agent with a great company, Janice Storrs Properties. It specializes in relocation and horse farms here in Southern Pines. Check out our website link if you are interested in finding out more about this area. I'm
enjoying Southern Pine's year round climate for running, biking and
riding. And yes, still skiing when we take our annual trips back to
Germany. Always with a horse, I competitively rode in Europe, competing
up to 4th level dressage and eventing to Prelim in Germany. While
working in France, I had a healthy taste of competing in the show
jumping arena. It was while in Vermont that I found my most recent and
dearest horse, my Morgan mare, Mariah. She blossomed and I trained her through 2nd
level dressage and on to eventing (we event barefoot). A natural and
loving cross-country, she and I event locally now far away from the
hectic international show schedules. I've had a great time experiencing
all of my equestrian endeavors!
While living in Vermont, I worked for an equine veterinarian, running the entire office operation and getting a lot of hands on experience with assisting. It was during this time that I saw a lot of horses suffer from very sore backs due to ill fitting saddles. Saddle-fitting
was always a problem with my short-backed Morgan. Every 'treed' saddle
was too long for her back, so I had to compromise by putting it further
on her shoulders to avoid her getting pinched in the lumbar area.
Needless to say, I was thrilled when a friend of mine introduced me to
the Barefoot® saddle. It made a huge difference in our dressage work
and at the same time definitely freed up Mariah's shoulders. I ride in
the London for our dressage work and use the Tahoe for
our extensive trail rides.
Many of my friends (and horses) have also had saddle-fitting problems and so I started telling and showing them my Barefoot® saddle. Then it dawned on me! I contacted Barefoot® in Germany to see if I could be an importer for their great saddles, and with my German background (and no pun intended), it was a perfect fit! I discovered a business that I absolutely love to represent and believe in. So that's it. I have evolved and am now not only a real estate broker but also a successful sales rep for these great saddles, helping both people and horses! Well, I hope you enjoyed my brief bio. I look forward to your call or email and helping you find a perfect fit for you and your horse as well!
